Inventory Control Specialist
Who We Are
Porter Logistics is a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider redefining modern warehousing and fulfillment. Headquartered in Atlanta, we've grown over the past decade from a two-person operation in a 10,000-square-foot warehouse to an organization supporting more than 1 million square feet across multiple Georgia facilities.
We're trusted by some of the world's most recognized brands, but here's what really sets us apart: we build careers, not just fill roles. Many of our leaders started in entry-level positions and grew with us.
This is a tight-knit team where leaders know you by name, your work creates visible impact every single day, and hard work gets rewarded with real opportunities. If you're energized by challenge, want limitless growth potential, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, keep reading.
The Role:
Inventory is the backbone of everything we do for our clients. As an Inventory Specialist, you own the accuracy and organization of our warehouse inventory from cycle counts to discrepancy resolution to WMS recordkeeping.
This isn't a passive data-entry role. You'll be the person our operations team, customer success team and clients rely on when something doesn't add up. You take precision seriously, you communicate clearly and you don't let a discrepancy sit unresolved. If that sounds like you, we want to talk.
This is a full-time hourly position based on-site at our warehouse facility. Standard hours are 8am to 4pm.
What You'll Earn:
- $20-$23/hour based on experience
- Competitive medical, dental and vision plans
- Paid time off and company holidays
You'll Thrive Here If You:
- Want ownership over a function that directly impacts our clients
- Catch errors others miss and follow through until they're resolved
- Thrive working across teams, from warehouse floor to client communication
- Want to grow with a company that promotes from within
This Might Not Be For You If:
- You prefer working in isolation without cross-functional collaboration
- You're comfortable letting discrepancies slide
- You're looking for predictable, low-accountability work
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Perform regular cycle counts across client inventory sections to verify accuracy and catch discrepancies early.
- Investigate and resolve differences between physical inventory and recorded levels.
- Update and maintain inventory records in Porter's WMS and reconcile against client WMS systems.
- Partner with warehouse operations, leadership, customer success and clients to address inventory needs and resolve issues.
What We're Looking For:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment; previous inventory experience required.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Clear, professional communication skills across internal and external teams.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Previous exposure to a WMS system.
The Hiring Process:
We value your time and are committed to a streamlined, respectful hiring experience. Candidates selected for further consideration will begin with a brief phone screen with a member of our HR team. If mutual interest is confirmed, you'll be invited for an in-person interview at our warehouse to meet the team and tour the facility.
